Candy Corn Rice Krispies

Whip up a wicked twist on classic Rice Krispies with these candy-corn-inspired treats! Three layers of buttery, marshmallowy goodness – sunny yellow, zesty orange, and a sweet, fluffy white top – all stacked up for that perfect Halloween bite. Easy to make, fun to eat, and a total crowd-pleaser. Cut ‘em into triangles for that iconic candy corn look, and you’ve got yourself a treat that'll disappear faster than you can say trick-or-treat!

Ingredients
6 cups Rice Krispies cereal, divided
5 cups mini marshmallows, divided
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
1 Orange and yellow gel food coloring
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the Pan
Lightly grease a 9x9-inch round baking dish with non-stick spray or butter, or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Step 2
First (Yellow) Layer
In a large saucepan, melt 1 1/2 tablespoons butter over medium-low heat.
Add 1 2/3 cups mini marshmallows and stir until fully melted and smooth.
Remove from heat and stir in yellow food coloring until you achieve a bright candy corn yellow.
Stir in 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
Press the mixture firmly against the edges of the prepared pan using a spatula or your hands (lightly greased with butter or non-stick spray to prevent sticking).
Allow the layer to cool for a few minutes.
Step 3
Second (Orange) Layer
Repeat the process with 1 1/2 tablespoons butter and 1 2/3 cups marshmallows.
Once the marshmallows are melted, add orange food coloring and stir until you get a vibrant orange hue.
Stir in 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal until well combined.
Gently press the orange layer against the yellow layer in the pan.
Step 4
Third (White) Layer
For the final layer, melt the remaining 1 tablespoon butter and 1 2/3 cups marshmallows.
Skip the food coloring for this layer to keep it white. Stir in the remaining 2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal. and lastly press the white layer in the center of the dish against the orange layer. You should be left with a target design. using parchment paper and the bottom of a glass or your hands press the layers together.
Step 5
Cool and Cut
Let the Rice Krispies treats cool completely in the pan (you can place them in the refrigerator to speed up the process). Once cooled, remove the treats from the pan by lifting the parchment paper (if used) or carefully running a knife around the edges.
Cut into triangles to resemble candy corn pieces.
