Chocolate peanut butter banana bark turns three familiar ingredients into an easy frozen treat that requires no baking and very little preparation. Sliced bananas form the base, followed by a creamy layer of peanut butter and a thin shell of dark chocolate that becomes crisp once frozen. A little flaky sea salt on top balances the sweetness and makes the chocolate flavor even more pronounced.

The bark can be broken into rustic pieces or cut into neat squares and stored in the freezer, making it especially convenient when you want something sweet already waiting for you. Make a full pan to keep on hand, or customize individual sections with chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or other favorite toppings before freezing.

Ingredients

• 5 to 6 medium ripe bananas, sliced into ¼-inch rounds

• ½ cup natural creamy peanut butter

• 1¼ cups dark chocolate chips (60–70% cacao)

• 2 teaspoons coconut oil

Optional Toppings

• Flaky sea salt

• Chopped roasted peanuts

• Unsweetened shredded coconut

Instructions

Prepare the Bananas

  1. Line a 9 × 13-inch baking sheet or quarter-sheet pan with parchment paper. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer, placing them snugly against one another until the bottom of the pan is completely covered. The slices should touch to create one solid sheet of bananas.

Add the Peanut Butter

  1. Warm the peanut butter in the microwave for 15–20 seconds, or until smooth and easily spreadable. Using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon, spread the peanut butter into an even layer over the bananas, covering them from edge to edge.

Add the Chocolate

  1. Combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each, until the chocolate is completely melted and silky smooth. Pour the melted chocolate over the peanut butter and gently spread it into an even layer. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt or any optional toppings, if using.

Freeze

  1. Transfer the pan to the freezer for 2 hours, or until completely firm.

Serve

  1. Lift the bark from the pan using the parchment paper and place it on a cutting board. Break into rustic pieces or cut into squares with a sharp knife. Store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 2 months.
