Bright, refreshing, and wonderfully simple, a classic strawberry daiquiri is one of summer's most iconic cocktails. Sweet, ripe strawberries are blended with fresh lime juice, rum, and ice to create a drink that's fruity, vibrant, and perfectly balanced.
Whether served on a warm afternoon, alongside a backyard barbecue, or at a summer celebration, this frozen cocktail comes together in just minutes and is always a crowd-pleaser. Garnish each glass with a fresh strawberry or a slice of lime for an effortless finishing touch.
Fresh or Frozen?
Both fresh and frozen strawberries work beautifully in this recipe. Frozen berries create an especially thick, frosty texture, while fresh strawberries produce a lighter drink when blended with plenty of ice.
Use Ripe Strawberries
The flavor of your daiquiri depends largely on the quality of the strawberries. Choose berries that are deeply red, fragrant, and fully ripe for the sweetest, most flavorful drink. If your strawberries are slightly tart, simply add a little simple syrup to taste.
Chill the Glasses
For the best presentation, place your serving glasses in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes before blending the daiquiris. A chilled glass helps keep the cocktail cold longer and gives it that classic, restaurant-style finish.
Ingredients
• 2 cups frozen strawberries
• 3 ounces (6 tablespoons) white rum, or your favorite rum
• Juice of ½–1 fresh lime
• 2 tablespoons simple syrup, or more to taste
• 2 cups ice
• lime zest, optional
For Garnish
• fresh strawberries
• lime wheels
Instructions
Blend
Add the frozen strawberries, white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, ice, and lime zest, if using, to a high-powered blender.
Blend until smooth and thick. If the daiquiri is too thick, add a splash of cold water. If it's too thin, blend in a few more frozen strawberries or a little extra ice.
Serve
Pour into two chilled coupe or hurricane glasses. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and a lime wheel. Serve immediately.
