Yields

1/2 cup

Whipped maple cinnamon butter is a simple way to add warmth and sweetness to everyday baking. Lightly spiced with cinnamon and sweetened with maple, it’s smooth, creamy, and easy to prepare.

Serve it with warm biscuits, pancakes, or banana bread, or spread it on a slice of good crusty bread. It keeps well in the refrigerator, making it a useful make-ahead addition to fall breakfasts and baking.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened, 1 stick, or vegan butter

1 1/2 tbsp pure maple syrup, or to taste

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, or to taste

  1/4 tsp vanilla extract, optional

  pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Add softened butter to a mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer or stand mixer to whip until light and fluffy, about 1–2 minutes.

  2. Add maple syrup, cinnamon, vanilla (if using), and a pinch of salt. Whip again for another 30–60 seconds until well combined and airy.

  3. Add more maple or cinnamon if desired, and whip briefly again.

  4. Transfer to a ramekin or airtight jar. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week. Let sit at room temp for 5–10 minutes before serving for spreadability.
